Problems Faced by
UNICEF Tanzania
UNICEF Tanzania wanted to strengthen the scientific knowledge of their communities. Because the Tanzanian residents face challenges in accessing the benefits of modern resources. The limited availability of technology and the high associated costs create a digital divide. It causes these communities to lag behind in opportunities and advantages that come with widespread access to information and connectivity.
This gap hinders their ability to harness the full potential of digital tools and services, impacting education, communication, and overall socio-economic development in these areas. They know little about Science that affects their health, environment, food, and daily life.
So, UNICEF Tanzania thought about a unique concept in which people can get rid of their misconceptions about Science. In this context, they chose the Cranky Uncle game. However, they faced problems delivering the game's evidence-based program to more people.
They wanted to make it accessible on the IoGT Platform through RapidPro. So, UNICEF Tanzania signed up with Riseup Labs to integrate the IoGT, RapidPro, and the Cranky Uncle Game.
The following were the requirements from UNICEF Tanzania to Riseup Labs:
