Online eLearning and Job platform for Disability People
Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (EMPORIA) Mobile App consists of an eLearning platform and Job portal. The eLearning platform is designed with ICT courses for persons with disabilities along with a dynamic exam system. The job portal is dedicatedly built to establish persons with disabilities so that these emerging groups of people become a part of the national development.
This eLearning platform is specially designed to ensure the empowerment and inclusion of persons with disabilities. The registration process of this app is completely free.
This eLearning platform envisions a technology for people with disabilities that can improve learning, making it faster, productive, cost-effective, importantly, and more trackable.
This authenticated eLearning course has the potential to provide certification by completing the course with proper guidance for persons with disabilities.
What is EMPORIA eLearning Platform?
The World Report on Disability jointly published by World Bank and WHO estimates that Global disability prevalence is 15%. It may vary from region to region or country to country. There is no comprehensive national survey and reliable data on persons with disabilities in Bangladesh.
The UN-ESCAP in their recent publication “Disability at a Glance 2015 - Strengthening Employment Prospects for Persons with Disabilities in Asia and the Pacific” estimates the prevalence as 9.10% in Bangladesh.
To develop the Persons with Disabilities as skilled manpower on ICT, promote their employment, and make them contributing citizens to build Digital Bangladesh and achieve the Goals of vision 2021 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Purpose of the EMPORIA eLearning Platform
Develop a specialized, interactive, accessible National eLearning Platform for persons with disabilities containing audio & video tutorials on ICT training with voice and sign language instruction. In addition, there will be some useful links along with a Mobile App to access the Platform.
This eLearning platform has a job portal so that job seekers get information and employers can post job advertisements and they are able to find their suitable skilled person. An integrated database for people with disabilities has been created under the eLearning platform. To produce specialized audio and video tutorials on ICT training with voice and sign language instruction for persons with disabilities includes Neuro Developmental Diorder (NDD).
To facilitate employment for 80% of persons with disabilities trained by the project in IT & other sectors and self-employment by freelancing outsourcing.

History and background of EMPORIA

The UN-ESCAP in their recent publication “Disability at a Glance 2015 - Strengthening Employment Prospects for Persons with Disabilities in Asia and the Pacific” estimates the prevalence as 9.10% in Bangladesh. According to this estimate approximately 120,91,458 persons.
Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Government of Bangladesh (GOB). It was established by Act No IX of 1990 passed by the Parliament. The main activities are (not limited to) encouraging and providing support for ICT-related activities, formulating national ICT strategy and policy, creating standards and specifications of ICT tools for government organizations according to their necessity, working for human resource development in the ICT sector.

The platform has detailed content, illustrated with photographs, videos, GIF, animation references to source materials, key references into the course, etc.
With this platform, the user can take exams in any course of their choice. If they pass the exam, they get a digital certificate.

FEATURES OF EMPORIA APP
EMPORIA App increases the skills of disabled people through training and builds a bright future. This eLearning platform is specifically designed to ensure the empowerment and inclusiveness of people with disabilities.
Users have to register to take the course and exam by entering the app. At the time of registration, the user has to fill up some fields. Fields are Full Name, Email, New Password, Confirm Password, Gender, Type of Disability, Enter, Suborno Card No. After registration, the user has to enter the app with an email and password.
After logging in, the user can see only two options from the bottom navigation of search. Users can see the detailed list of courses from the course list. Users can start by selecting the course of their choice.
There is another dashboard option at the bottom navigation bar. In this section, users can see detailed information and status on their courses and exams. Users can also view the progress of their course, exam performance, quiz results, attendance date.
Users can do lifetime access in their enrolled courses. They can enroll in as many courses as they like. Courses are:
Introduction to Computer and its Application packages.
Graphics Design and multimedia tutorial.
Web & Mobile Application Development.
Software Quality Assurance.
Technology tool kit for the visually impaired.
Internet basics tutorials for the visually impaired.
Microsoft word use and keyboard introduction for the visually impaired.
Formatting word documents through screen readers for the visually impaired.
MS Excel training for the visually impaired.
Web browsing basic for the visually impaired.
Strategies to connect with social media for the visually impaired.
Users can see the course details, contents, and included tab menu within each course. Course Details Users can view Course Duration, Total Video Number, Publish Date
Users can view course duration, number of total videos, published days under the course details on each course page.
There is an opportunity to take one or more exams for each course. After the examination, a certificate of recognition is given for passing the examination. Users can take the exam anytime, anywhere from this section. The list of exams are:

Exam on web and mobile application development.
Exam on software quality assurance.
Exam on digital marketing.
Exam Details and Instructions
Users can see the exam duration, related courses, total number of exams, pass number within each exam. They can also view the description of the exam and included topic. After participating in the exam user can see the instructions.
Users can see the following options while taking the exam:

Previous Button (from the second question)
Finish the exam button
In this section, users can see the infographic of the exam result. The infographic data is shown by correct answer, wrong answer, not answered, received number. Users can also view exam names, duration, total number, results, and attendance date.
There is a search job button in the job portal. Users can search jobs following the way:
The nature of the job as like full time, part-time, contractual, internship, freelance
Job level as like Functional or industrial
Workplace, Bangladesh, or outside
Experience limit as like 1-3 years, 3-5 years, 5-10 years

After confirming to apply for any job a confirmation popup is visible on the screen.
Users can create resumes in a simple way. They can create, edit resumes to apply for their job. The following information is given during making a resume.
Certificate / Training
Once the resume is created, the user can preview the resume. The resume file can be uploaded from the local device in PDF, DOC, TXT format. Users also download the resume in PDF format.
There is an account settings option under the setting tab. Users can update their following information from the profile page:

Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) is making a platform that job seekers (persons with disabilities) can apply for a job post at EMPORIA Job Portal. So for the Employer’s convenience, BCC has launched the corporate end app using which employers can go through the entire recruitment process from anywhere, anytime. EMPORIA Employer app helps to find the perfect one among skilled job seekers.
The user has to enter the app with an email and password. This app to find a skilled person from a wide range of CV banks for people with disabilities.
