Overview

Riseup Labs just secured a spot as a trusted partner to the international health research organization ICDDR, B in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In this latest collaboration, the tech enterprise will concentrate efforts on digitizing ICDDR, B’s training module on diagnosing and treating tuberculosis in children, increasing the module’s efficacy in combating the disease.

The digital training module will especially focus on equipping remote healthcare professionals to diagnose and treat tuberculosis in children. The effort combines Riseup Labs’ passion for healthcare and education while leveraging technology to aid the progress of these sectors. Moreover, the shared goals of ICDDR, B, and Riseup Labs in improving healthcare, especially for children, led to this fruitful partnership. The company is hopeful of the collaboration and looks forward to a long-term partnership.

The Project’s Scope

A 2021 report by WHO lists Bangladesh among the 30 high-burden countries for tuberculosis (TB) as well as a high multi-drug-resistant TB(MDR-TB) burden country. This not only makes it imperative to heighten efforts in diagnosing and treating TB, but also to pay special attention to children and vulnerable groups in the fight against this disease. To equip healthcare workers with the knowledge and preparedness, ICDDR, B has curated a training module on tuberculosis in children. However, to ensure greater reach and efficacy of the module, especially to train healthcare professionals in remote areas, ICDDR, B is partnering with Riseup Labs to digitize the module.

The digital rendition of the training module will feature course materials in audio-visual formats, along with figures, illustrations, pop-up details, end-of-module quizzes, and a final assessment. Additionally, the module will integrate voice-overs to facilitate quick and easy comprehension of learning materials. The module will also have course completion certification which can only be availed upon successful completion of the materials and assessments.
