The award ceremony named ‘Safer Internet for Children’ took place on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre. Riseup Labs’ Operations Manager, Mr. Enamul Hoque, received the ‘Best Internet Content for Children’ award from UNICEF and Facebook.
UNICEF and Facebook launched a year-long program to reach 25 million Bangladeshi children. They wanted to strengthen awareness among educators and parents about protecting them from the perils of the digital world.
These two organizations organized the ‘Safer Internet for Children’ expo to achieve their target. Approximately 10,000 students, parents, and educators from educational institutions nationwide actively participated in the expo. It became a conference and workshop focused on internet products for children and teenagers. Fifty domestic and international companies, including Riseup Labs, and 100 schools participated in this event.
