On September 4, 2025, something extraordinary happened at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh. Unlike traditional job fairs, this one was exclusively dedicated to persons with disabilities—providing a rare and powerful platform where their talents, skills, and stories took center stage.

Riseup Labs was proud to stand there, shoulder-to-shoulder with them, as part of this life-changing initiative organized by BBDN in collaboration with BRAC Bank PLC.

A Fair with a Purpose

Most job fairs are open to everyone. But this one was different. It was created solely for individuals with disabilities—a group often overlooked in mainstream hiring.

Why is this important? Because barriers to opportunity are real:

  • Many people with disabilities face bias in hiring.
  • Too often, their skills are underestimated.
  • Workplaces still lack the inclusivity they deserve.

This job fair broke those barriers by saying loud and clear: “You belong. Your talent matters. Your future starts here.”

Stories That Touched Our Hearts

At the fair, we met people whose journeys are testaments to strength:

  • A young graduate with a hearing impairment, eager to bring fresh ideas into tech.
  • A determined candidate in a wheelchair, proving that mobility challenges don’t define professional capability.
  • Skilled individuals with visual impairments, showcasing talents that redefine innovation.

Every story inspired us. Every handshake reminded us that ability always outweighs disability.
