Job Context:
Riseup Labs seeking a Modern Content Writer who will go beyond traditional writing to shape how our team creates, delivers, and improves content. This role combines high-quality content production with AI-driven efficiency, workflow automation (n8n), and leadership. The right candidate will not only produce SEO (Search Everywhere Optimization) content at scale but also drive adoption of new tools, mentor teammates, and introduce smarter workflows that improve the entire team’s performance. The ultimate goal is to grow website traffic and engagement by creating content that is faster, better, and more impactful.
Job Responsibilities:
- Write blogs, guides, case studies, and landing pages that are engaging, accurate, and optimized for SEO (Search Everywhere Optimization).
- Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Jasper, SurferSEO, Grammarly, MidJourney, Canva AI) to accelerate ideation, research, drafting, and visuals.
- Create supporting multimedia (AI-generated images, infographics, social posts) to enrich content.
- Leverage n8n (and similar automation platforms) to streamline repetitive workflows such as publishing, reporting, and notifications.
- Critically review and edit AI-generated output to ensure accuracy, originality, and brand alignment.
- Take ownership of the content pipeline, from ideation to publishing, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Introduce new tools, workflows, and processes that improve speed, quality, and scalability.
- Champion adoption of AI and automation tools across the team, helping colleagues embrace smarter ways of working.
- Proactively identify content gaps, pitch ideas, and lead execution without waiting for step-by-step instructions.
- Provide peer feedback and light mentorship to probationary/junior writers to strengthen team capability.
- Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis to discover new growth opportunities.
- Align content output with traffic, ranking, and conversion goals.
- Monitor content performance using analytics tools and recommend improvements.
- Help instill structured documentation and task-tracking habits within the team.
- Collaborate with SEO, social media, and design teams to ensure content aligns with broader growth strategies.
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
Additional Requirements:
- Proven experience writing diverse types of blog posts, including B2B and B2C content.
- Writing SaaS/product-focused posts, tutorials, SEO-driven guides, and thought leadership pieces requiring different tones and strategic approaches.
- Ranked content in SERPs and delivered measurable traffic growth.
- 3 years of experience as a content writer, copywriter, or content marketer, ideally in digital/SEO-heavy environments.
- Strong working knowledge of SEO (Search Everywhere Optimization) best practices (keywords, on-page, search intent, link strategy).
- Proficiency with AI content and design tools (writing assistants, image generators, optimization platforms).
- Familiarity with workflow automation platforms, ideally n8n.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and bring structure to a team.
