HealthBuddy+
Riseup Labs provided maintenance and support services for the HealthBuddy+ website. They will also provide some enhancement to the website, dashboard, and mobile app backend, as well as annual maintenance and support service.
HealthBuddy+ is a chatbot project of the UNICEF Regional Office and the World Health Organization (WHO). It's a communication platform.
The COVID-19 pandemic has underlined the challenges of reaching all audiences across regions and countries with reliable and accurate risk communication messages to counter the growing misinformation perpetuated across multiple communication channels. To provide reliable information and receive feedback from the affected population, UNICEF and World Health Organization (WHO) Europe jointly launched a Chatbot project, “HealthBuddy,” in April 2020, which is now available in 19 languages. The backend platform for the COVID-19 information chatbot (RapidPro and Bothub) is managed by other vendors who have long-term agreements with UNICEF for hosting the Rapidpro and Bathub.
Having run the project for more than a year, the project team identified several needs to make enhancements to the HealthBuddy+ web page, mobile app, and dashboard.
Riseup Labs solved the problems that UNICEF ECARO and World Health Organization (WHO) faced.
The overall scope of the project is listed below:
The proposed ‘Health Buddy’ mobile app and RapidPro integration project will be a key tool in advancing UNICEF's mission to improve the health and well-being of children and families worldwide by surveying health-related information from the users collecting data and making a report. The project will ensure that data is collected, managed, and analyzed in a secure, user-friendly, and efficient manner, and that it is used to inform evidence-based health policies and programs.
Expected Outcomes:
The developer team of the HealthBuddy+ Website properly analyzed the method to solve the problems.
Ensuring sensitive information collected from the users is protected from unauthorized access.
Protecting the privacy of survey participants and ensuring their data is not misused.
Make sure the app can work in areas with poor or unreliable internet connectivity.
Designing the app in a way that encourages high response rates and keeps users engaged.
Managing the logistics of the survey, such as distributing it to participants, analyzing responses, and reporting results.
Ensuring seamless integration of the mobile app with RapidPro to collect, manage and analyze data efficiently.
By implementing these security measures, Riseup Labs ensures the security and privacy of sensitive data and prevents unauthorized access.
