GeTECD, or Gender Transformative Early Childhood Development, is an initiative by Plan International Bangladesh that promotes equal participation of both parents in child-rearing while fostering a gender-neutral environment. To advance this mission, Plan International Bangladesh partnered with Riseup Labs to create the GeTECD website—a central hub for resources, information, and engagement on healthy child development and gender equality.

Creating a user-friendly portal tailored for parents and adults with limited tech skills

Research shows that early childhood development plays a foundational role in the child’s physicals, cognitive and emotional growth. This project addresses the need for an easily accessible online resource for parents, especially rural parents and guardians. Such a resource has to be user-friendly, comprehensive and easily understandable with intuitive designs and features that cater to a less tech-savvy audience.

Online resources can be a powerful tool when it comes to reaching and educating people. In developing digital tools, low tech savvy users, particularly parents are after often neglected. In order to reach this target group. we implemented several strategies to create an accessible resource on healthy parenting to foster healthy child development.
