On Saturday, 1 August 2026, Riseup Labs had the pleasure of supporting the Future Astronauts Meet-Up, a STEM-focused event organized by Space Innovation Camp, dedicated to nurturing curiosity and confidence in young minds aged 6 to 14.
Held at Launchpad, Riseup Labs’ dedicated event space in the new office, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the morning brought together a wonderful mix of young space enthusiasts, proud guardians, event organizers, and sponsors, all gathered under one roof to celebrate curiosity, imagination, and the wonders of space.
A Morning of Big Ideas from Young Minds
The heart of the event was simple yet powerful: each child took the stage for a 5-minute presentation on a space- or astronomy-related topic of their choosing. Topics ranged across the vastness of the universe: from the mysteries of black holes and the phases of the moon, to the possibility of life on other planets and the journeys of astronauts beyond Earth’s atmosphere. Each presentation reflected hours of preparation, genuine curiosity, and no small amount of courage, as many of these young speakers stood in front of an audience for the very first time.
Following each presentation, an interactive Q&A session gave the audience, which included parents, peers, and mentors, the chance to engage directly with the young presenters. These sessions were designed not just to test knowledge, but to build public-speaking confidence and encourage the participants to think on their feet, defend their ideas, and enjoy the process of sharing what they’d learned.

What made the Future Astronauts Meet-Up special wasn’t just the science, it was the sense of community it created.
