Job Context:
We are seeking a talented Mid-Level Next.js Developer (Contractual) to join our Frontend Engineering Team. You will be responsible for building performant, accessible, and visually compelling web applications using the Next.js framework. Working in a collaborative environment, you will translate product requirements and design mockups into production-grade code, contributing to both user experience and application architecture.
This role is ideal for an engineer who cares deeply about web performance, modern JavaScript practices, and building products that users love.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop server-side rendered (SSR) and statically generated (SSG) web applications using Next.js.
- Build reusable, accessible, and performant React components.
- Implement responsive UI designs from Figma/design specs using Tailwind CSS or CSS Modules.
- Integrate REST APIs and GraphQL endpoints into frontend applications.
- Manage client and server state effectively using tools such as React Query, Zustand, or Redux.
- Optimize application performance including Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, and code splitting.
- Write unit and integration tests using Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to define API contracts and integration requirements.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and sprint planning.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for frontend deployment workflows.
Educational Requirements:
- B.Sc in Computer Science and Engineering from any reputed public or private university.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of professional frontend development experience, with at least 2 years in Next.js.
- Strong proficiency in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+).
- Solid understanding of Next.js routing, SSR, SSG, ISR, and App Router.
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with GraphQL.
- Proficiency with CSS frameworks such as Tailwind CSS or styled-components.
- Familiarity with state management solutions (React Query, Zustand, Redux Toolkit).
- Experience with version control using Git and collaborative branching workflows.
- Strong knowledge of web performance best practices and SEO fundamentals.
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and semantic HTML.
- Ability to translate design mockups into pixel-perfect, responsive interfaces.
