Job Context:

Riseup Labs is looking for an experienced Senior IT Manager to lead the IT department, oversee technology strategy, manage infrastructure, and ensure the security and efficiency of IT operations. The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on technical expertise to align IT initiatives with business goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team (infrastructure, security, support, and applications).
  • Define and implement IT strategy, policies, and best practices aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, including firewalls, Active Directory, file servers, email servers, databases, and enterprise applications.
  • Ensure IT security, compliance, and governance following ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, SOC2, NIST, GDPR and other industry standards.
  • Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, procurement, and contracts.
  • Plan and supervise IT projects, system upgrades, migrations, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity plans.
  • Oversee network security, endpoint security, vulnerability management, patching, and access control.
  • Implement IT governance frameworks, ITSM processes (ITIL), and asset management practices.
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and reliability; ensure high availability of mission-critical applications.
  • Conduct regular security audits, penetration testing coordination, and risk assessments.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) and hybrid IT environments.
  • Act as the key liaison between IT and other business units.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.

Additional Requirements:

  • 7+ years of IT experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, firewalls, Active
  • Directory, file/email servers, and enterprise systems.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ERP, CRM, SaaS, and modern IT service delivery models.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
