Job Context:
Riseup Labs is looking for a “Purchasing Manager”. This individual will report to the Purchasing Supervisor and is responsible for procurement and expediting materials and services to support manufacturing and the business plan and direction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the focal point of communication, maintenance, and update of supplier delivery commitment noted in contract/purchase order as negotiated
- Track orders from placement through delivery and maintain MPR system updated
- Determine the firm expected delivery dates on full and partial shipments and inform of potential delays
- Contacting vendors, managing supply requisition, and communicating with the supplier to ensure a reasonable rate and coordinate the best timing and means of delivery and meet GSA
requirements. - Research various supplier options to select the best based on GSA requirements
- Assist in the research, analysis, and recommendations of new sources of specific goods, services, and process improvements
- Drives in monitoring supplier performance to ensure that purchases are cost-effective and that suppliers provide expected service and value
- Expeditiously handles properly authorized emergency and rush procurements.
- Participates in supplier negotiations and strategies
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline from reputed public or private university.
Additional Requirements:
- Related experience in Purchasing Department (Manufacturing) at the senior level
- Knowledge of Purchasing procedures and computer-based inventory systems
- Ability to read and write at a level necessary to complete the above tasks
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic Computer acknowledge including and not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Availability to work with various departments as well as vendor representatives
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Problem-solving skills
- Understands practices of high-level supply chain management
Nice-to-Haves
- Must have 5+ years of purchasing experience procuring electronic and electromechanical components, raw materials, and other production supplies, including demonstrated strong negotiation skills with all levels of suppliers and internal customers
- CM background with direct customer interface
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Skilled in coordinating and prioritizing multiple projects
- Able to drive problem-solving activities
- Proficiency in Excel, including V-lookup and Pivot Tables
